Maine Maritime Academy employee Richard Rosen donates $1,000 to Susan M. Collins' campaign

Richard Rosen, an employee at Maine Maritime Academy, donated $1,000 to Republican Party candidate Susan M. Collins, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $1,916 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Maine Maritime Academy as of November 3. Approximately 52.2 percent, or $1,000, of these contributions were made to Republican Party candidates and committees.

Richard Rosen's contribution was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Maine Maritime Academy since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
