Of the 18,605 people living in Augusta in 2019, 50 percent (9,304) were women and 50 percent (9,301) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the River Valley Today.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 5,657-to-5,648. In the 65 and over age range, there were 2,433 females and 1,999 males.
