Kennebec County ranked eighth in Maine for resident earnings in 2019

Kennebec County ranked eighth among counties in Maine by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Kennebec County residents was $29,341 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 52,105 households with a population of 121,753.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Cumberland County with $35,560 per year after adjusting for inflation – $6,219 more than Kennebec County. It had 120,644 households with a population of 292,307.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Piscataquis County with $21,687 per year after adjusting for inflation – $7,654 less than Kennebec County. It had 7,025 households with a population of 16,836.
