Yesterday we hosted The 7th UP Biz Tour which is a program that exposes students to the great businesses and career opportunities that are right here in the Kennebec Valley! The long-term goal is to develop our region’s workforce and economy of the future.
In partnership with the Cony Middle and High School, the Kennebec Valley Chamber transported 170 7th graders on a day-long tour of different Chamber member businesses from a variety of industries.
Eleven participating businesses offered experiential tours, the opportunity to meet and engage with employees, and the opportunity to learn about the business and the jobs available in the Kennebec Valley region! (Augusta Maine Fire-Rescue, Augusta Maine Police Department, Whispering Woods Stables, Kv Tooling Systems, Kennebec County Superior Court, Kennebec Savings Bank, J.S. McCarthy Printers, Central Maine Power, MaineGeneral Health, Kennebec Technologies, and Finance Authority of Maine)
