Georgie Coetzer (Johannesburg, South Africa) has been named a Second Team Division III All-American in awards announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Coetzer was also First Team All-Region while Faith Jennings was named as a Second Team All-Region choice by the NFHCA. Coetzer's honor marks the 12th straight year that the Polar Bears have at least one NFHCA All-American.
The NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year this fall, Coetzer anchored a defense that allowed just 1.44 goals per game and a .580 shots on goal percentage. The defender added three defensive saves and was a key contributor on Bowdoin's offensive corners, scoring nine goals while adding five assists. Jennings and Coetzer co-led the team with nine goals apiece. It is the second NFHCA All-American honor for Coetzer, who was also a Second Teamer last fall.
Jennings earns a second consecutive All-Region selection after being named All-NESCAC earlier this fall. Jennings matched Coetzer with a team-high nine goals and tallied nine assists, again co-leading the team. Jennings led the conference in assists in league play as all nine helpers came against conference opponents.
