Colby College Women's Ice Hockey competed against the Amherst College Mammoths in the second game of a back-to-back matchup. The Mules defeated the Mammoths 5-4, and are now 12-6-0 overall and 6-6-0 in NESCAC conference competition.

Only 0:46 seconds into the first period, freshman Breanna Studley started off Colby's scoring run with an unassisted goal. Only two minutes later at 3:07, Lily Wisniewski contributed her second goal of the season to take Colby up 2-0. As the offensive momentum continued, Jo Tattersall set up a shot that was completed by Courtney Schumacher. The assist by Jo Tattersall marks her seventh assist of her freshman campaign. Towards the end of the period, the momentum shifted towards the Mules' defensive zone, but Colby's defensemen led to an unanswered first period by the Mules. In the second period, a goal by Amherst made it 3-1, but Colby soon answered with a Stephanie Lane play that led to a goal by Meg Rittenhouse. Senior Tate Senden met the back of the net off assists by Alex Thomas and Beth Stinson to end off second-period scoring. In the third period an offensive shift towards Amherst, made the game a close 5-4. In the final minute, a huge save by goalkeeper Paige Bolyard allowed Colby to regain control of the puck for the victory.
