Former town manager Dennis Keschl will serve as Belgrade's interim manager from June 1-July 31.
The Board of Selectpersons on May 3 agreed to appoint Keschl to the post as it searches for a successor to Anthony Wilson. Wilson tendered his resignation after accepting a position with the 7 Lakes Alliance, a local nonprofit organization that works to conserve the lands and waters of the Belgrade Lakes Region. Wilson's final day as town manager will be May 31.
Keschl has twice served as Belgrade's town manager -- from 2006-10 and from 2017-19. He also had a long career in state government and twice served as the District 76 seat in the Maine House of Representatives.
The Selectboard on May 3 also approved a job posting for the town manager's position, which is being advertised on the websites of the Maine Municipal Association and other similar organizations, and at townofbelgrade.com/jobsrfps.
