June 1st marks the first day of Pride Month. We celebrate Pride to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan and to recognize the impact LGBTQIA+ individuals have had on history.
Pride Month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ culture, to support and advocate for queer rights, and a time to remember those who lost their lives to hate crimes and/or HIV/AIDS.
To the LGBTQIA+ community at UMA and beyond: You are valid. You are supported. You are loved. You belong here.
