The Colby College Men's Soccer team completed the second game of its short road trip Sunday, taking down the Mariners from Maine Maritime Academy 5-1. Colby is now 2-1 on the season.
For the second straight day, Colby's Mario Simoes struck first when he found the back of the net in the 34th minute, helping the Mules take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Opening the second half, Ethan Franco tallied his second of the year giving Colby a 2-0 lead. After a Mariners goal ten minutes into the frame brought the score to within one, Simoes struck again for his third of the season. Josh Rubin (3rd of the season) and Sam Wilson (1st) added goals down the stretch to give Colby a 5-1 victory. Brendan McCarthy turned away two MMA shots in the match.
Colby is back in action Wednesday hosting Gordon College.
