University of Maine at Augusta has Partnered with the Augusta Food Bank

Did you know? UMA has partnered with the Augusta Food Bank by providing FREE fresh groceries to students and community members.

In 2021, UMA’s Student Government Association identified an issue facing the student body: food insecurity. To help address the issue, they formed a relationship with the Augusta Food Bank.

Many UMA students face personal obstacles that prevent them from taking advantage of the food banks in the area. They might be in class during the times when the food banks are open, might not have the transportation they need to get there, or could simply be ineligible due to their status as a student.

Through the help of the Augusta Food Bank, UMA is committed to providing peace of mind when it comes to students and thinking about their next meal.

In Augusta, groceries are delivered to Randall Student Center every Tuesday. For more information, please reach out to Rose Pelletier or visit Randall inside the student lounge.
